Ryan Hartwig

Mr. Hartwig was a content moderator for nearly two years working for Cognizant, subcontracted by Facebook in Phoenix, Arizona. He worked in queues for Latin America and also North America, and reviewed and deleted groups, pages, posts, comments, and videos for Facebook and Instagram. Ryan currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona and is a graduate of Arizona State University. He has a degree in Spanish Linguistics.

Ryan has a BA in Spanish Linguistics from Arizona State University, where he graduated in 2015. While at ASU in 2010 he was the president of the ASU branch of NSSHLA, a speech therapy association. Also, in 2010 Ryan was a research assistant for the PEARL Lab (perception, ecological action, robotics and learning) a psychology lab where he attended weekly meetings and formulated research plans. From 2006-2008 Ryan was a Christian missionary in Mexico City and learned fluent Spanish, which he uses to this day.

He has interviewed internationally discussing internet censorship, and has published op-eds with the New York Post and Townhall.com.
